Change Your Mind: Change Your Life
I hope you enjoy this guest post by Kathleen Cameron.
Change your mind. It’s easier said than done. Truly understanding yourself and learning how to appreciate what you are capable of is pivotal in achieving whatever your goal may be. This is not only true for specific goals, this is for people with health goals, professional goals, or simply personal goals. Your success will be determined by your mentality no matter what field you are in. So, start to get your mind to work for you, leading you to the life you know you want and know you can have.
Believe You Can Do It
Think about what it takes to become an Olympic Athlete. First an athlete needs to believe they could make it to the Olympics, or what were they even working towards? It is not possible to whole heartedly put your all into something and try your absolute best without believing you will get the result that you’re working towards. This goes for all goals, whether it is a financial goal, professional goal, or even weight loss. You need to believe that you can, or you never will.
Invest in Yourself
Paying attention to your needs and meeting those needs will allow you to perform better in other areas of your life. That means taking care of your mental health. There are many ways to practice this. You can utilize:
– visualization – If you can visualize without doubt your confidence will skyrocket and you will be able to act without hesitation
– meditation – you will give your mind an opportunity to rest allowing for better focus and understanding
– self-hypnosis – This allows you to target specific goals you want to work on as well as gives your mind and body an opportunity to relax.
Your self-care is routine is unique to you, so take the time to find what works for you.
Self-Reflect
Taking the time to self-reflect and understand what makes you who you are is pivotal in conquering life. If you do not understand yourself, you will not understand why you’re doing what you’re doing, and it’s tremendously limiting. The Center For The Healing Arts & Sciences states, “By taking the time to ask yourself the important questions, you gain a better understanding of your emotions, strengths, weaknesses and driving factors. Once you understand important aspects of the self, you become better able to adapt to changing situations and tough circumstances.” This applies to the setbacks in your business or when you fall off your new health routine, by self-reflecting, you’ll be able to understand what caused your set back and learn how to adapt and grow from it.
Practice Self-Love
This is the most important thing in finding success. All of that time spent on self-reflection will show you how much you’ve grown, what you’ve learned from, and what you’re capable of. This will lead you to self love. Let that soak in, self love. Self love will break all of the barriers that are holding you back. Once you can embrace everything that makes you who you are, you will know that nothing can stop you. You will remove any excuses you may have had before, because you won’t need to be making them. The most important mantra to remember is: “You cannot outperform your self-image”. So, why not create a self-image of strength, power, and endless possibilities?
