Be Good to Yourself
One of the greatest joys in my career is helping others discover what gives them strength so they can honor their passion in life and career. But I’ve noticed that many people spend a lot of time beating themselves up for not being where they want to be, or doing what they really want to do.
In the wise word of Dr. Phil McGraw – “A successful reinvention doesn’t happen when you hate the person that you are. It happens when you love yourself enough to believe that you can do better and deserve better.”
I encourage you to give yourself permission to be human. Forgive yourself and clear the clutter of the past or the unresolved of the present. Until you give yourself a break for what you did, did not do, or should have done, you will likely repeat the same patterns in the future.
Clear your mind of guilt and shame and focus on what is here and now. Then you can take each moment as it comes. Iyanla’s Fix My Life television show is taking the OWN Network by storm. She encourages people to slow down and manage expectations to see what is really happening right in front of them.
You need to check in regularly, breathe deeply and love yourself because you deserve it. Only then will you honor yourself and design a life that you really want to live. It’s up to you and I’m cheering you on all the way!
