Your Career Advantage
In 2021, I began writing a bi-weekly LinkedIn newsletter which now has over 4,400 global subscribers and growing. This incredible community of professionals has taught me so much and I am committed to sharing tools and resources to help us all navigate a lifelong career journey with meaning and purpose.
As an executive coach and organizational development trainer, I am keenly observant of the difficulties and the triumphs my friends, colleagues, family, and clients have been experiencing (myself included) and these themes came alive in my newsletter articles. The abundant comments and shares made it clear that the need for career and professional development wisdom, insight, and resources was significant.
Your Working Life
With my Your Working Life podcast audience growing (we now have listeners in 16 countries) I wanted to share the thought leadership of my guests and my own executive coaching experience with a global audience in an additional medium. And thus, the idea for my new book – Your Career Advantage: Overcome Challenges to Achieve a Rewarding Work Life was born.
While this was not my first book rodeo, it was an incredible experience in large part due to Nicole Gebhardt and her team at Niche Pressworks. Working with this publisher stretched me in new ways and empowered me to write a book I am truly excited to share with you because I believe it will help you enjoy your career and love your life simultaneously.
A Playbook
I wrote the book in 6 relatable sections with short and pithy chapters in each section, so you can use it as a real-time resource for handling career challenges or planning a strategy for career wins. Each chapter ends with Pro-Tips to succinctly synthesize the salient points. You can read it cover to cover or flip to a section that will help you in real-time.
- Moving Up or Moving On: Should I stay, or should I go?
- Thrive Where You Are: Leverage opportunity where you are now.
- Challenges That Suck: Let’s get real – shit happens!
- Well-Being at Work: How to excel in your career and honor your health.
- The Office Vibe – Company culture matters.
- Future-Proof Your Career: Sought-after leaders continue to develop.
If you have a bad day with your boss, there’s a chapter for that. If you are ready for a promotion and need to plan your strategy – there’s a chapter for that. If Imposter Syndrome has dented your self-confidence – there’s a chapter for that, too.
Suffering is Optional
I wrote: Your Career Advantage to discuss the very issues that nobody talks about at work – but should. As an executive coach – I walk you through relatable scenarios and provide solutions you can put into practice NOW. My goal is for you to overcome these relatable career challenges and celebrate your wins so you can enjoy your career AND love your life!
Spoiler alert, I share my vulnerable and transparent experience with work-addiction and my struggle with workaholism. Work addiction is unhealthy and it’s the only addiction we celebrate and enable. I’m on a mission to wipe out workaholism and dismantle it as a badge of honor.
Depression, anxiety, and exhaustion are at an all-time high around the world – it’s time to get real about how you can live a healthy life at work and at home. Your Career Advantage will help you hone your emotional intelligence, define success on your own terms, so you can excel in your career and live a rewarding, healthy life.
As I’ve said in my TEDX talk and many times over, “The suckiness is real, but the suffering is optional.”
Check out Your Career Advantage – available in paperback, hard cover, and audio book (read by me) on Amazon and start designing the life and career you really want to lead. Life is short – you deserve to be happy now. What are you waiting for?
